Goldplate

Gold-Plated is an achievement found in the Xbox 360 version of Condemned 2: Bloodshot. It is obtained after receiving a Gold rating in all 11 missions. It is worth 50 Gamerscore.

Overview[]

To obtain a Gold rating in a mission, it is necessary to complete the following criteria within it:

  • Every emitter destroyed
    • Emitters are the circular red and orange devices found on walls. They may be destroyed by throwing an object at them, punching them, or shooting them. They make sound, and will damage Ethan when he gets too close to them.
    • During the 2nd mission the player will receive the Spectrometer which will allow the emitters to be detected via the presence of a blue emblem which will appear on the right side of the screen when one is in the area. Selecting and using the Spectrometer with the X button and pushing right on the Left Stick will display a number which will raise as the player gets closer to an emitter.
  • Every antenna checked
    • Antennae are found as televisions or radios. Both are glowing white and are easy to see in dark areas.
    • These are activated by pressing the A button and then moving the Right Stick in any direction. While it is possible to listen to an entire message, in order to obtain credit (Viewable by pressing the BACK button) it is only necessary to to move Right Stick in any direction before releasing
  • Every response activated
    • Responses are story related and triggered in certain areas. The prompt to respond with the A button will appear for a short limited amount of time. No extra exploration is needed to find these, as they are encountered as part of the players story progress.
  • Every optional objective completed
    • Each mission will have an option objective which must be completed (I.E. Destroy all Meth Labs during the Preston Hotel mission)
  • Every investigation passed with a "Perfect" rating
    • Each investigation will require Ethan to use different tools and to answer certain questions correctly. Most of the time no extra exploration is needed to obtain these, as they are encountered as part of the players story progress- however there are cases where they can be accidentally missed.

Walkthrough[]

Please read the following considerations:

  • Be warned that there may be significant plot spoilers found within this guide. Because missions may be replayed in any order, those looking to plot details should consider completing the game without attempting to acquire this achievement- and then restarting in FPS Mode which will start progress on the Detective - First Grade achievement, as well as make the entire process of obtaining Gold-Plated much easier.
  • Progress on collectibles and other relevant information may be checked by holding the BACK button during a mission- doing so will activate a display (this does not pause the game)
  • When following this guide, the objectives within a mission will (for the most part) be encountered and completed in the order in which they are listed in the "Order encountered" list- However minor exceptions may occur due to the very small chance of difference in player choice in some sections- and so caution is advised in order to avoid having to reload a past save or restart a mission.
  • Refer to "Order encountered" as you complete objectives to ensure proper progression. It should be noted that optional objectives are not always found within this list.

Destroy Ceiling Sacks (15 total sacks)

  • The ceiling sacks mission starts shortly after the final response. The player needs to destroy all the brownish sacks on the roof. If they get too close an enemy will grab them, and for this reason it is advised to grab the bricks on the nearby table to take them out in advance. There are 15 total.
    • 9 in the first small area
    • 1 behind a shelf in the first area (Can be seen if walking along the left wall)
    • 2 to the left at the 3-way intersection near a medicine cabinet
    • 1 on the roof further along
    • 1 in a small room to the left of the next 3-way intersection (turn left if you entered the room for the 3-way to spot it)
    • 1 in the room after the previous on the ceiling

6 total responses

  • Response 1
    • Near the start of the game a bum will start rummaging through the trashcan to the right of where the player start. He will engage in conversation with Ethan and after insulting how he smells, the response will show up.
  • Response 2
    • After sliding between the trash and following the bum up the stairs he will begin to try to open a metal chain-link gate. Walk up to the gate (to the left of the bum) and the response will allow you to push him out of the way and continue.
  • Response 3
    • After opening the gate, the bum begins to talk to a hooded man. Eventually he will insult Ethan, prompting a response.
  • Response 4
    • After fighting the 2 bums (after they push a rack over) a third will come from a window. Kill him and then climb through that window, and the fourth response will trigger.
  • Response 5
    • After getting the fourth antenna and second emitter you will continue through a few doors and spot Vanhorn running off triggering the fifth response.
  • Response 6
    • After going through an old clinic you will head down a ↵spiral staircase and should spot Vanhorn on the other side of a window. The response will trigger before he is grabbed. This is right before seeing the ceiling sacks.

Emitters:[]

3 total emitters

  • Emitter 1
    • The first sonic emitter is found after you enter the electronics shop right after Vanhorn coughs blood on you. You need head downstairs to find it. It is required to progress through the level and is found behind a few shelves in the direction you head to go back up the stairs nearby an antenna.
  • Emitter 2
    • The second emitter is located right after you spot the three slime creatures eating a human (which is shortly after the 4th response and after you blow open the gate.) Turn right around the corner when facing the body and coming from the gate and then look slightly up. You need to throw an object at the emitter with RB to get it. It is also located next to an antenna.
  • Emitter 3
    • After you hit the red fire escape with an object a ladder ↵will drop down. Climb the ladder and fight off the slime men that will attack. If you turn 90 degrees left from the direction you came up in you should spot a building with an air duct on it. Look on the right side of the building and you should spot the emitter in the distance.

Antennae:[]

5 total antennae

  • Antenna 1
    • After you complete the fighting tutorial you will wake up in the same place except without other people. Walk forward and head through the gate that opens by itself. The antenna is located in a window on your left.
  • Antenna 2
    • After you head through the door after the first antenna head down the stairs and then make two left turns. It is located to the right of the first emitter.
  • Antenna 3
    • After grabbing the previous antenna head back up the stairs and head into the door 90 degrees to your right. Head up the stairs and it will be on your right.
  • Antenna 4
    • The fourth antenna is located right after you spot the three slime creatures eating a human (which is shortly after the 4th response and after you blow open the gate.) Turn right around the corner when facing the body and coming from the gate and then look slightly right. It is in a windowsill much like the first one and is nearby the second emitter.
  • Antenna 5
    • Once you enter the clinic you should (eventually) find a level that you have to pull to release 3 bums. The antenna is in the same room and is in the direction you face when you first enter the room.

    • (Look at body) Take photo
    • (Look at face) Take photo

Optional objectives:[]

Destroy all Meth-labs (4 labs)

  • As you go through the level you will find a few flaming home made meth labs which need to be destroyed. You can kick, shoot, or attack them to destroy them. There are 4 total.
  • Meth-lab 1
    • Before heading through the small hole in the wall that Dorland uncovers by moving a piece of wood LaRue will prop a room’s door open a small amount. If you passed it head back a little bit and head inside of the room to destroy the lab. This must be done before you “Duck Under” the small hole in the wall.
  • Meth-lab 2
    • After prying open the first elevator you will fight a very strong bum with chains on his hands. If you are facing the direction he came from then turn right and look along that wall before continuing past where he came from. There should be an overturned table with the lab behind it near the back of the wall in the opposite direction he came from.
  • Meth-lab 3
    • After prying open the second elevator continually make left turns until you come to a lone TV. Look along the wall on the right in the next hallway to the left and you should see a hole in the wall. Look through that and you should spot a lab with a naked bum in sight. Throw something at the lab or shoot it to destroy it.
  • Meth-lab 4
    • The final meth lab is located nearby the investigation that asks you to identify the victim further (the one that asks you to identify the wound on the door and the cap.) Before doing this face the door and turn 90 degrees right, run to the end of the hall and then turn right again to spot a plank of wood blocking a hole in the wall. Crawl through that and then fight off the bum with the gun to spot the final meth lab.

Responses:[]

5 total

  • Response 1
    • At the very start of the mission Dorland will be talking to you and will prompt the first response.
  • Response 2
    • After the first handheld conversation with Rosa, Dorland will open an elevator shaft and start the second response.
  • Response 3
    • After the previous response you will jump to a ladder and then fall. When you hit the ground the third response will start.
  • Response 4
    • After the fire fight with the bums and the second emitter you will enter the hotel and Dorland will start talking and the fourth response will start. This is right before you are required to do the investigation.
  • Response 5
    • After destroying the final meth lab and the investigation where you study the officers hat and the blood on the door you will continue through the room and find a large hole in the ground looking down at a dead person. This will prompt the final response.

Emitters:[]

3 total[]

  • Emitter 1
    • After destroying the first meth lab continue on through the level. After you move through the doorway the spectrometer will go off and the emitter should be on your left behind some furniture.
  • Emitter 2
    • After the fire fight with the bums and before the first investigation check the outside of the building that you enter to continue. The emitter is high up in the center of the building.
  • Emitter 3
    • The third emitter is located after the first investigation and second antenna. Around room 103 you will find a destroyed wall. Head through this wall and then continue through heading right. Eventually you will open a door and spot another door across the room being opened by an enemy, kill him and turn right (when facing the direction you entered in) to spot the emitter on the wall.

Antennae:

  • Antenna 1
    • The first antenna is located in the room you have to “Duck Under” a small opening in a wall to reach (not the one Dorland reveals) This is right after getting through the room where the fight with the naked bum occurs, and it should be in plain sight.
  • Antenna 2
    • After the first investigation continue on until you find writing on the wall (only visible with the UV light) that says “gun in 106” Look on the nearby doors for room 106 and then enter and kill the bum before using the radio in the bathroom.
  • Antenna 3
    • After the third emitter head along and find room 101. You’ll find it’s locked so head along the nearby hallway towards the seemingly dead end. A bum with chains on his hands will destroy the wall as you walk through revealing a way into room 101 to find the third antenna.
  • Antenna 4
    • After you exit the second elevator shaft that you scaled using a ladder follow the trail of blood and look for a room 208 (should be located to the left) Enter the room and the final antenna should be in plain sight.

    • Investigation 1
      • While facing the first antenna turn around and head through the door on your left and then head into the room on your left. Be careful, heading to the room on the right will block your path back with mannequins that will prevent you from returning to get the first meth-lab among other things.
    • Investigation 2
      • After knocking the chair out from the door the first time head down the hallway and enter the open door on the right, go through the door on the left of this room and you should be able to spot the final meth-lab through the open doorway on the right.

Responses:[]

  • Response 1
    • At the start of the level Dorland will call you and prompt the first response.
  • Response 2
    • After the train comes through the tracks and all the bums start fighting head to the left and follow the tracks to a broken train and a metal gate. You can see LaRue on the other side and this will prompt the second response.
  • Response 3
    • Head back along the tracks the way you came to see a bum cause the fence to fall down and open a new path for you. Head down that path and you will spot LaRue at the end right before climbing the ladder. This will prompt the final response.

  • Emitter 1
    • After you get past the fire by using the conveyer belts head through a door on your right filled with doll cases and your spectrometer should go off. Take a 90 degree turn left and then a 90 degree turn right and you should spot the emitter on the left wall.
  • Emitter 2
    • After you drop down to a grating below you (after getting the gas mask) you will have to destroy a few shelves by blowing up some explosives to reach a valve to deactivate the flames below. While facing the valve, strafe right and you should spot the emitter on the left wall nearby a raging fire.

    • (Look at largest metal piece on the table) Collect metal
    • Any evidence that the metal pieces came from Rachael Mars's body?
    • (Response 4 will occur directly after completing this investigation)

Optional objectives:[]

There are two different optional objectives, photograph 3 statues and don't kill any guards

  • Photograph the statues (3 total)

During the mission you will run into three funny looking statues and for whatever reason need to photograph their heads. After finding the first statue (after Emitter 2) the location of the remaining 2 statues will be added to the GPS device as yellow marks.

  • Statue 1
    • The first is located nearby the second emitter after you drop off of some scaffolding and fight a few bums and security guards. It is in the left room (right if you’re facing the emitter) and after killing a few guards should be easy to spot.
  • Statue 2 (can be done before or after Investigation 5)
    • To the left of the area with the bricks near Emitter 3 (location can be confirmed with the GPS)
  • Statue 3
    • After fleeing from the armor clad enemy he will fall through a bridge. There are 3 enemies in the next room of the museum with the final statue in a corner. Whip out your GPS and it should be pretty easy to spot. You have to pick this one up before climbing over the debris and fighting the armored enemy again.
  • Don’t kill any guards - As the name suggests, don’t kill any guards. If you spot some lounging somewhere not looking at you simply move slowly to avoid attracting their attention. If you need to fight them simply drop any weapon you have and use your fists to knock them to the ground. Once they are on their knees (similar to when normal enemies when you are able to environmentally kill them) approach them and hold the LT and RT buttons to knock them out. Enemies are allowed to kill guards but you are not, and this should be used to your advantage when applicable. When you kill a guard the optional quest will read as failed on the mission screen- and you will need to either "Restart from Last Save Point" or "Restart Mission" from the pause screen.
