Ethan Thomas is an SCU investigator who first appeared in Condemned: Criminal Origins, and later in Condemned 2: Bloodshot. At the start of the first game, he is working on nine different cases, but one of them goes wrong when he is ambushed at a crime scene and his gun is used to kill two police officers. He is believed to be responsible, and must track down his attacker while avoiding the police.
Ethan has an almost supernatural ability to visualize a crime scene, allowing him to solve most cases relatively easily. His main enemy is SKX, a serial killer who murders other killers using their own methods. After the events of the first game, Ethan has become an alcoholic, grown a beard and is much more violent and aggressive.
